The East Pointers & Tullara
Live In Cairns
The East pointers show in Cairns encapsulated everything we love about music, songs that you can clap your hands too, music we can dance too and bands that celebrate their own stories and lives, both Tullara and The east pointers brought all of this and more to the stage.
Tullara hailing from Grafton on the NSW North Coast has been a reular in the cairns music scene for a few years now and has just completed recording her latest album which will be out later in 2025.
Her set on this night was made up entirely of new and original songs of her forthcoming album and it is sounding superb.
The East Pointers coming from Prince Edward Island on Canada's east coast are regular visitors to Australia and tonights show felt like a mini Woodford Festival get together. Having sold out almost all of their Australian tour it was easy to see why once they got going.
Their unique mix of fiddle, keyboards and guitar has roots in Celtic folk rock but lyically updated to the modern world and its issues.
The show was one of the most livliest I have been to and the best show of 2025 so far with much foot stomping and handclapping.
